Sri Sri Mrityunjaya is the representation of the immortal. An essential aspect of Bhagwan Shiva, Mrityunjaya is untouched by time, and, therefore, by implication, does not decay or degrade.

This prayer is an affirmation of our own immortality, that of our essence, our soul. It also recognizes our physical manifestation and acknowledges that the body is very much subject to decay and disease. The prayer evokes the power of immortality to aid in preventing ailments from afflicting our physical bodies and in preventing disquiet from troubling our emotional selves.
